Congratulations! It’s the month before your wedding. You’ve made it this far and you are in the home stretch! At this stage of the wedding planning process, many of our couples ask our team here at Weddings Inc. what the final steps are leading up to the big day.
We get it: You’re excited and nervous because the day you’ve been anticipating for so long is almost here. You don’t want to forget anything and our team at Weddings Inc. is here for you!
In this post, we are gifting you a free wedding planning checklist for the month of your wedding. This comprehensive list will ensure that every little detail is taken care of, so you can relax and enjoy the last month of your engagement!
Our Free Wedding Planning Checklist for Your Last Month:
To make this last month as smooth and easy as possible, we have broken down our free wedding planning checklist into 3 bite-sized sections: 3-4 weeks before your wedding, 2 weeks before your wedding, and the week of your wedding.
This will help keep you on track week-by-week and avoid overwhelm. Remember to save this post with our free wedding planning checklist and take it one step at a time.
If you’re working with Weddings Inc. for wedding planning and/or coordination, don’t forget that we can assist you with many of these steps (and we can take some of these tasks off your plate altogether!).
One Month (3-4 Weeks) Before the Wedding
- Collect final RSVPs from guests and notify your caterer, venue, and coordinator of the final guest count.
- Create reception seating chart.
- Create place cards or escort cards.
- Obtain marriage license.
- Have final wedding dress and suit fitting with your tailor.
- Finalize ceremony and reception music choices and send to your musician.
- Submit final payments for all vendors.

Two Weeks Before the Wedding
- Have final walkthrough meeting with your venue and wedding coordinator.
- Finalize wedding timeline with wedding coordinator.
- Finalize and gather all personal décor items (i.e. signage, favors, programs, guest book, cake set etc).
- Pack wedding weekend attire (i.e. rehearsal dinner outfit, after-party outfit, post-wedding brunch outfit).
- Get any waxes, eyelash treatments, spray tan, facials done.
- Pack for your honeymoon (if applicable)
- Write custom vows (if applicable).
- Assemble guest welcome bags (if applicable).
- Finalize bridal party, parents, and spouse gifts for the day-of (if applicable).

The Week of the Wedding
- Relax and get a manicure and pedicure (Bring your bridesmaids and mom to make it a girls’ day!).
- Get ring(s) professionally cleaned.
- Put each vendor’s tip in individual envelopes with their name on the front to be given to your wedding coordinator to distribute on the day-of.
- Gather items for detail shots to be given to your photographer on the day-of (i.e. ring box, invitation suite, jewelry, hair accessories etc)
- Pack your overnight bag for the wedding night.
- Pack a wedding day emergency kit, including items like safety pins, bobby pins, hairspray, tape, scissors etc. (Skip this step if Weddings Inc is your wedding coordinator!)
- Write a letter for your soon-to-be husband or wife for the day-of (if desired).
- Drop off guest welcome bags to hotel (if applicable).
- Enjoy the final days of your engagement! Soak it all in.

Why You Need a Wedding Coordinator:
If you’re working with a wedding coordinator for the day-of, like Weddings Inc, you’ve done yourself the ultimate favor! In the final month of wedding planning, our team of wedding pros will take care of confirming all your vendors’ information for the day-of.
We contact each vendor individually to confirm their arrival time, services, and vendor meal count. We’ll ensure that each vendor has the final timeline and layouts. We also confirm any last-minute changes, such as a song switch.
Without a wedding coordinator, these crucial tasks will fall to you or someone in your wedding party, which is a huge responsibility! As you can see from our free wedding planning checklist above, you will already have plenty to do in the month before your wedding. You don’t need these important tasks on your plate as well!
Most importantly, your wedding coordinator at Weddings Inc. will iron out any day-of issues or challenges that may arise. Our team will manage set-up onsite, liaise with your vendors, distribute tips, set up all your personal décor, and ultimately, make sure that every single detail of your wedding is taken care of… so you don’t have to!

The Most Important Step in Our Free Wedding Planning Checklist:
Our free wedding planning checklist for the month of your wedding is comprehensive and thorough, so you don’t forget a thing! However, we encourage you to keep in mind that not every item in this free wedding planning checklist will apply to you. For example, if you and your soon-to-be spouse don’t want to give out welcome bags or day-of gifts, you don’t have to!
The most important step in our free wedding planning checklist is the very last one. It’s so important that we will list it again:
Enjoy the final days of your engagement! Soak it all in.
These are the last days of your engagement before you begin your marriage. Don’t forget to spend quality time with your fiancé and reflect on your relationship journey and engagement season. If you’re doing premarital counseling, finish up your last couple of session strong, fully prepared to start this new chapter.
After all, the point of wedding planning is not to have just one beautiful day (although you will!). The point is to get married and celebrate the next step in your lives together.
Wishing you the happiest of wedding days and an even happier marriage!
