The History of the Tavares Pavilion

The Tavares Pavilion on the Lake is located on beautiful Lake Dora in the downtown district’s Wooten Park. The original pavilion was constructed in 1912 and was primarily used as a local civic center. They broke ground on the current pavilion in the fall of 2012, with the first wedding held there in the Summer of 2014.

The overwater venue has an Island retreat vibe that includes antiques and carved sideboards. They’ve included palm trees, original works of art, and some rattan furnishings to add to the island feel.

You approach the 8,000-square-foot event venue, located over the Lake, by a forty-foot-wide by one hundred and fifty-foot-long pier with beautiful railings and gas lanterns. It’s the perfect location for wedding photos, ceremony or cocktail hour.

The venue has magnificent views and well-appointed ready rooms. Yes, there is a fabulous antique pool table in one of the rooms.

Additionally, the Tavares area is perfect for your wedding guests with local accommodations, restaurants, and galleries, including nearby Mount Dora.
